Detects the angular deviation on the sheet and sends it to the CNC for automatic correction, with 0.05° bending accuracy.

Sheet follower

Arms that follow the sheet while bending, taking its weight off the operator and protecting large parts from sagging.

Back gauge

Bending accuracy depends heavily on the design and stability of the back gauge. It runs on servo motors, ball screws and linear guides, and complex parts can be bent with up to 6 axes.

Dener was founded in 1974 in the old industrial zone of Kayseri, Türkiye. Since 2000 it has focused on CNC sheet metal machines: shears, hydraulic, ball-screw and electric press brakes, plasma and fiber laser cutting machines.

In 2016 it moved to the İncesu industrial zone on a 1.3 million m² site, with 155,000 m² of covered factory and 27,000 m² of social facilities, and began producing CNC machine tools: 5-axis, double-column and vertical machining centres, lathes and grinders.

K-factor: why does a part come out longer or shorter after bending?

When sheet metal bends, the outer surface stretches and the inner surface compresses. Between them lies a line that neither stretches nor compresses: the neutral axis. Its length is the correct flat length to cut on the laser.

K = t ÷ T, where t is the distance from the inner surface to the neutral axis and T is the sheet thickness. For mild steel in air bending it is usually between 0.30 and 0.50 (about 0.42).

Example: a U-shaped part in 3 mm sheet with two 90° bends and legs of 100 + 300 + 100 = 500 mm. With K = 0.42 and a 3 mm inside radius, the bend deduction is 5.31 mm, so the flat length = 500 − 2 × 5.31 = 489.4 mm. Cut it at 500 mm and the part comes out about 10.6 mm too long.

The K-factor depends on material, thickness, inside radius, V-die opening and bending method.
Make a test bend on the same sheet and correct the value before production.

Guide

How to read a press brake model name

Dener model names carry two facts: length and capacity. The first two digits are the bending length in decimetres, the rest is the capacity in tons.

30100: 3 m length, 100 t capacity.
40320: 4 m length, 320 t capacity.
60600: 6 m length, 600 t capacity.
1560: 1.5 m length, 60 t capacity.

Practical note: the actual table length is slightly longer than the number (30100 bends 3020 mm), and that margin lets you bend a full 3 m part.

Comparison

Hydraulic or servo-electric?

Both bend with the same accuracy when properly set up; the difference is how the force is generated.

Hydraulic: Oil cylinders push the upper beam. Higher capacities, lower purchase cost, suited to thick plate and long parts. Needs periodic oil and filter changes.
Servo-electric: Servo motors with ball screws or belts. Uses energy only while bending; the manufacturer quotes up to 50% energy saving and around 35% higher speed. Quieter, cleaner, less maintenance, suited to small and medium parts in large quantities.

Rule of thumb: thick plate, long parts and a limited budget mean hydraulic. Small parts in high volumes and expensive electricity mean servo. The hybrid combines both with a servo-controlled pump.

Calculation

How to calculate the bending force you need

In air bending the force is estimated with the simplified formula:

F = 1.33 × σ × L × t² ÷ V

where σ is the material's tensile strength (N/mm², about 450 for mild steel), L the bending length (mm), t the thickness (mm) and V the die opening (mm), usually V = 8 × t. The result is in newtons; divide by 9810 for tons.

Example: Mild steel, 6 mm thick, 3000 mm long, with V = 48 mm: F = 1.33 × 450 × 3000 × 36 ÷ 48 ≈ 1,347,000 N ≈ 137 t. Add a 20% safety margin for about 165 t, which is model 30175.

A wider V reduces the force but increases the inside bend radius, so the engineer balances the two according to the part.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the delivery time?

It depends on the model and equipment. Some models are in the manufacturer's stock and some are built to order; we state the expected date in the quote, including shipping and customs.

Are installation and training included?

The quote states clearly what it includes: installation, commissioning and training are listed as separate items so you know exactly what you pay for.

What warranty does the machine have?

Machines carry the manufacturer's warranty; its duration and terms are set out in the quote and the sales contract.

Are spare parts available in Iraq?

We supply genuine parts from the manufacturer and keep the critical components whose absence would stop production.

What are the power and foundation requirements?

The technical table gives the motor power and weight of each model. Before installation we send the foundation drawing and the electrical supply requirements.

Can I see the machine before buying?

Yes. We can arrange a visit to the Dener factory in Kayseri, or show the machine running on your parts by video.
